Dance Camp - SCSU @ NLS (Completing 6th - 11th Graders)Additional Recreation CoursesCome dance with the St.Cloud State University Dance Team! You will learn jazz technique, turn basics, advanced turns, jump drills, kick technique, skill time, cardio conditioning, goal setting, etc. All skill levels in grades 7-12 are welcome! The St. Cloud State University Dance Team achieved great success once again at the UCA/UDA National Championships. The Huskies won their fourth consecutive National Championship in the Gameday performance category and earned a runner-up finish in pom and a third place finish in jazz. The team's four-peat on Jan. 13 in the gameday category is just the fourth time the team has performed in that category, with their first national title coming in 2020.Spring/Summer 2025

Dance Sessions - Intermediate to Advanced Dance Skills (Completing 6th - 11th Grade)Additional Recreation CoursesThis camp is for anyone completing grade 6-11th who are interested in competitive dance. Dancers will learn proper technique to execute jazz and kick combinations. The camp will include strength training, endurance, and flexibility exercises with specific instruction on ways to execute: turns, leaps, flexibility holds, kick technique and combinations. Dancers should wear workout clothes (leggings or shorts) and dance shoes are required. Dancers should bring a bottle of water, have their hair up, and bring tennis shoes for some of the exercises.Spring/Summer 2025

Dancer - Fitness (Completing 6th - 11th Grade)Additional Recreation CoursesA combination of strength training and technique (strengthnique). Based on team goals, Katie will analyze where your skills "fall apart" and provide a custom training series to address each part of the skill (releve, passe, arms in first) with specific exercises to improve each part. Simple to replicate in each practice, your stregnthnique workout series will be your secret weapon to improving skills. Instructor Katie Groven is an ACSM certified personal trainer and two time world champion dancer. She is the creator of dancer-fitness.com where she combines her 25 years of dance training and her fitness expertise to crack the code on improving skills, endurance and flexibility using strength training. Participants will learn basic water ski techniques, gain confidence on the water, learn safety skills and how to properly care for equipment. All equipment is provided. Please wear your swimsuit, plenty of sunscreen and bring a towel. Fee includes American Water Ski Association insurance for the day. Lessons will be held at Neer Park in New London. Track & Field - Summer Boys & Girls Completing K-5th GradeAdditional Recreation CoursesYouth track and field is heavily dependent on parent volunteer to help with the meets. MEETS: Thursday, June 5th 6 p.m. – BOLD High School Track Meet at BOLD @ 5:45 pm Wednesday, June 11th 6 p.m. – NLS High School Track Meet at NLS @ 5:45 pm RulesEach participant may compete in as many events as they wish. Races will run in heats of 6 with top 6 participants receiving a ribbon – no timing. Eight places should also be given in the field events. Do as many places as possible in the hurdle race. All meets begin at 6:00 pm with the field events then running events to follow. Field event sign up is at 5:45 pm, please arrive early to sign up so the meets can begin on time. Track Events 50 Hurdles, 100m, 400m, 200m, 4x1 relay, 800m Field Events Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump (Implements 6lb shot put/2.2 lb discuss)Spring/Summer 2025
